Formware 1.2.8, 1.2.9 crashes at start

#1

I used formware 1.2.8
I update formware 1.2.8 to 1.2.9.

Then 1.2.9 crashes at start.
So I downgraded to 1.2.8, it worked before, but it crashes.

I tried 1.2.7, it works. hmm.
And then tried 1.2.8/1.2.9 , crash.

I removed my license using 1.2.7 and moved that to another PC installed 1.2.9.
It worked.

By a reason, I want to use 1.2.9 on the first PC ( it is next to my 3DP. )

I welcome any solutions for this.
I don’t want to re-install windows as much as possible…

WIndows application error event was left as follows
frame work version is the same version with 2PCs.

Hi ytakagi,

Thanks for the extensive description.

  1. The error message you are describing is from which version?

It’s an error of the 3d mouse call that failed. I’m aware that there was 1 formware version that had this problem. Not 100% sure which.

  1. Can you describe for both pc’s (where 1029 is working and where it’s not)
    GPU?
    CPU?
    Operating system?

Maybe i can determine why this happens.

Elco

Hi Elco,

Thank you for your quick reply.

You gave me a huge helpful hint , it’s related 3D mouse.

Once I installed this PC once, but I have uninstalled.
I suspect uninstalling process was not correct, I have tried to install 3D connextion software again.

And then…
IT WORKS !!! GREAT !!!
THANK YOU !!!

  1. 1028 and 1029 gave me an error, 1027 and previous version not.

Yes, that’s right.

At the current time, it works flawlessly.

For other readers. This bug is fixed for future versions. It detects if you have old 3d mouse drivers and gives a nice warning instead of a hard error.
