It’s a quick generation interface to generate a simple demo platform.
If you have a platform that has holes in it and lack the skill to model one yourself in a CAD package you can use this to generate a platform.

You could then additionally make use of features like the ‘platform hole fill’ to make sure your supports don’t fall through the holes.

in the configuration -> machine -> build platform, just remove the generated file.
